I googled asking “Does 希望みう Romanized to Mirai Miu” and the result read

“Yes, the Japanese name 希望みう romanizes to Mirai Miu, because the kanji 希望 is read as “Mirai” (usually meaning “Future”) and みう is read as “Miu””

But

JAVTrailers and the JAVLibrary called her “Kibou Miu”. (As did this site briefly)

(To be accurate, JAVTrailers has her as “Mirai Miu” in its actress hyperlink but as Kibou Miu in its Title translation.)

Googling shows that 希望 translates to “Hope” and Romanizes to Kibou (with no mention of “Mirai” or future)

But apparently you can “declare” the pronunciation of 希望 to be Mirai, which is a Kira-kira (sparkly/unconventional) name, forcing it to be read as Mirai – apparently a highly creative linguistic practice.

So –

Is this idol destined to have her name wrong nearly every single time a translation program is used to Romanize her new AV name?
