He’s grew so heavy recently, one might not recognize him in movies from the past.

But he played a fairly slender husband in the much earlier 2013-09-25 movie in this series

In it, husband Yasuda Daikichi is happy again at end of the movie, making love to his wife and seems to have been hired again, after letting the men the couple turned to for help sleep with his wife, lovely Miura Eriko

Quite a contrast. A happy ending after all the wife being embraced by others in that earlier movie

And the shocking cruelty of this movie with its gut wrenching climax.

But then, quite a contrast, younger, slender Yasuda Daikichi smiling in a suit in the earlier movie, and heavy toothless Yasuda Daikichi here

Such a cruel looking plot.

Wonder if it will seem at all easier to take if it gets subtitled well.

For now, it’s the kind of thing I’d expect people to turn away from, not return to.
