What is “posting for the sake of posting?”

Does that include every comment ever posted?

How does one separate “posting for the sake of posting” from posting that is different, not for the sake of posting?

On occasion, we are given definitions, often full of big words, explaining what things mean. For instance:

So. Lets have it. Define “posting for the sake of posting” so that others can understand what it is, and what it isn’t.

Troll, I’m wondering if you posted because you wanted to be complimented on your own use of inanities, your own attempts (in the time you have on any given day) to “wallpaper” the site with “inanities.” And I haven’t complimented you for the trolling name you used. After all, an uncapitalized name like “habib rizik’s gimp” took some thought. And you’ve kept using it. Perhaps I shouldn’t have failed to compliment the inanity there. But. A comment hyperlinking it to the prior post of the movie, and that prior post’s 49 comments. You can click to that to see that instead of limiting myself to posting just a hyperlink, that the first time the site posted this movie, I commented five times.
