Such wonderful piano as this begins.

Most Nagae Style movies begin with some kind of wonderful music or other.

The studio’s attention to detail is always top notch.

But the studio has made some really cruel movies. And the movies in this series are some of the cruelest.

At least in this particular installment of the series, the husband in financial disaster isn’t having to take a young’un outside during the sex scenes.

But it’s still just a relentlessly cruel series. That begins with lovely music, and that shows wonderful attention to detail.

It is the cruelty that is the hallmark of the Nagae style. I can understand S&M as an erotic preference between consenting adults, but the problem with these movies is that the cruelty is the main ingredient and it has not a hint of eroticism in it. Bleeding hearts are not fun to watch. There are plenty of other places to experience wonderful piano (or other) music.
