In the site’s / Admin’s defense, if one puts 豹 Hyō into Google Translate, one gets Leopard. And 女豹 Mehyō produces leopard woman. Per the good Wiki, the leopard (Panthera pardus) is one of the five species in the genus Panthera. But I think your point was more about simply reading the covers. I’d be shocked to see the “Dream Woman” series which is in clear English on its covers translated “Traumfrau” to frustrate one’s searching I had an interesting read thru the thumbnails SHK-083 女怪盗 女豹女怪盗 女豹 has no English “Panther” on its cover. But its cover does say “Her Name Was Yuri As Mysterious Thief: Mehyoh (Mehyoh being Leopard Woman or Lady Panther) SHK-160 Lady Panther 2 – has “Lady Panther “on its cover in English – and has “Treasure of Rhee Dynasty” But JAVTrailers posted that as “Joseon Dynasty Treasure” SSP-013 Lady Panther 3 – has “Lady Panther “on its cover in English – and has “Gogh’s Counterfeit” But JAVTrailers posted it as Mysterious Woman She-Leopard 3 – The Counterfeit SSP-024 Lady Panther 4 – has “Lady Panther “on its cover in English – and in French has “Poison du trésor du jungle” But JAVTrailers posted it… Read more »

Simply reading the cover must double or triple the working time for humans involved in getting a translated title posted. (Or that’s my speculation.) And reading the credits to get the cast’s names – that must take time. But this is the only site I know of that posts the male actors’ names. And I assume that came from reading (and if necessary, translating) the on screen credits, not just the covers. Presuming as I do that this site has, at times, actually done some reading, for instance when tagging the male actors, it always surprises me when the site mispells the name of an AV idol in her Actress hyperlink or in a movie’s title. After all, the emphasis on the performers’ names, especially the male actors’ names, is one of the best features of this site. And yet, actress names get butchered her all the time. Perhaps because the people working the site don’t have the time to read the spelling of the actress names on the covers and in the on-screen credits, and/or don’t have the time to proofread? Or read the covers for their Romanized or English- translated titles? Why the site’s staff wouldn’t have the… Read more »
